JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the building Adminstrator and/or Supervisor, a Secretary II (12 months) provides services of a general, special, technical, sensitive, and/or confidential nature.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience or training as a secretary.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and software related job responsibilities.
- A professional manner.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- A willingness and capability to work beyond the normal workday.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs high level secretarial tasks and managerial duties.
- Maintains a wide variety of office records, files, and reports.
- Assumes a high degree of responsibility and self motivation.
- Handles complex correspondence requiring subject matter knowledge and discretion.
- Has excellent business English and writing skills.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Has an in-depth knowledge of computers, specific office software, and file/computer maintenance requirements.
- Has a working knowledge of the general organization and functions of the major units of the Caroline County Public Schools.
- Has an in-depth knowledge of business office procedures and is able to perform these procedures without supervision.
- Is able to act and react in the absence of an administrator.
- Composes routine correspondence with minimal supervision.
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
- Reacts to change productively and performs other duties as assigned.
PAY & HOURS: This position is a 12 month position with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Caroline County Board of Education, Support Services Personnel Salary
Schedule. Placement on the appropriate salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills and training related to this position.
