JOB SUMMARY: The Math Intervention Teacher’s primary purpose is to help elementary students develop proficient Math skills that will contribute to their overall academic growth in Caroline County Public Schools(CCPS).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or Elementary Education preferred and hold a Maryland or be eligible for a Maryland educator certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current Math standards, methodologies, and instructional interventions.
- At least 3 years of successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient technology skills including data analysis and reporting
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach county-approved math interventions and/or small groups for the majority of the school day.
- Coordinate the school-based math intervention programs in collaboration with the school administration, math resource teacher, and appropriate supervisor(s) by planning, implementing and assessing math intervention services to ensure fidelity. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, maintaining and securing materials, assessing students, delivering interventions, and monitoring implementation/effectiveness.
- Review and evaluate student achievement information (including diagnostic screeners) in order to place students in appropriate academic interventions.
- Utilize protocols to ensure that interventions have been implemented with fidelity.
- Assist in developing a systematic and comprehensive process of data collection and effective decision-making/problem solving for math interventions.
- Maintain up-to-date files/spreadsheets related to student progress.
- Keep parents informed as to the purposes/progress of the math intervention by sharing intervention progress on a quarterly basis.
- Be an active participant in the SST and/or IEP Process by providing data and input on specific student needs related to math.
- Professional Development:
- In consultation with school leadership, develop and deliver professional training for teachers concerning approved rmath interventions, data collection, and data analysis.
- Actively participate in math training for ongoing professional growth.
- Keep informed of best practices and new developments related to math and literacy, and share the information with appropriate staff.
- Meet with the Principal, Supervisor of Instruction and Supervisor of Special Education quarterly.
- Perform other duties as required by the Principal, Supervisor of Instruction, and Supervisor of Special Education.
- Consistently exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of efficacy, and commitment to CCPS when collaborating within and outside of the school community.

Pay & Hours: This position is a 10-month position with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week and is paid via the Caroline County Board of Education Teacher Salary Scale. Placement on the appropriate salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities related to this position.
